We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal information only as described below:
- Service providers: we share information with vendors who help us operate our business, including hosting providers, analytics platforms, advertising platforms, email and CRM tools, payment processors, and professional advisors. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to use the information only for the services they provide to us.

- Advertising and analytics partners: we share certain information (including cookie identifiers and usage data) with partners such as Google and Meta to measure and optimize our marketing. Some of these disclosures may qualify as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising or “targeted advertising” under certain US state laws. See Section 11 for your rights.

- With your direction or consent: we share information for any other purpose you direct or to which you consent.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, software development kits (SDKs), session-replay scripts, local storage, and similar technologies (collectively, “Tracking Technologies”) to recognize your device, remember your preferences, analyze Site traffic, understand how visitors interact with the Site, and deliver and measure advertising.
7.1 Categories of Tracking Technologies
- Strictly necessary: required for the Site to load and function properly. These cannot be disabled through our preference controls.
- Performance and analytics: help us understand how visitors find and use the Site so we can improve it.
- Functional: remember choices you make (such as language or region) to personalize your experience.
- Advertising and targeting: used by us and our advertising partners to build a profile of your interests, show you relevant ads on the Site and on other websites, and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.

- Microsoft Clarity and Hotjar: session-replay and heatmap tools that record interactions with the Site (such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolls) so we can diagnose usability issues and improve the Site. These tools mask sensitive fields by default. Learn more: privacy.microsoft.com and hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy.
The specific tools in use may change over time as we add or retire services. We will update this Policy to reflect material changes.
7.3 Managing Tracking Technologies
You can manage most Tracking Technologies through our cookie banner and preference center, which appear on your first visit and can be reopened at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality. For interest-based advertising, you can opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (youronlinechoices.eu).
Where required by law, we obtain your consent before using non-essential Tracking Technologies, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals from supported browsers as a request to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information, the nature of the relationship, and applicable legal or contractual requirements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
9. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
SQRD Media is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — for international transfers of personal data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
11. Your Privacy Rights
11.1 Rights Under GDPR and UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate data; (c) request deletion; (d) restrict or object to processing; (e) data portability; and (f) withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11.2 Rights Under California Law (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to: (a) know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share; (b) request deletion of personal information; (c) correct inaccurate personal information; (d) opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (including cross-context behavioral advertising); (e) limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information; and (f) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, you may use browser privacy controls (such as Global Privacy Control) or contact us at hello@sqrdmedia.com.
11.3 Rights Under Other US State Laws
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights similar to those described above, including the right to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, and opt out of targeted advertising and sales of personal data. We honor these rights in accordance with applicable law.
11.4 How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of the rights above, email us at hello@sqrdmedia.com or call (385) 269-2100. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require verification of the agent’s authority.
You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to interpret these signals, our Site does not currently respond to them. We do, however, honor Global Privacy Control signals where applicable law requires us to do so.
13. Marketing Communications
We send our newsletter, promotional emails, event invitations, and similar marketing communications to subscribers who have opted in and, where permitted by law, to business contacts with whom we have an existing relationship.
Every marketing email we send includes a clear unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by replying to any marketing email with “unsubscribe,” by adjusting your preferences in our preference center, or by contacting us at hello@sqrdmedia.com. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly and, in any event, within ten (10) business days as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you transactional or service-related messages (for example, responses to your inquiries, project updates, or invoices).
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction that requires prior consent for marketing communications, we will only send you marketing emails if you have opted in, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
14. Children’s Privacy
The Site and Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@sqrdmedia.com so we can delete it.

The Site may contain links to websites, plugins, and services operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the Site or Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
